Opening ceremony will be held on the first day, July 6, from 15:00 (Registration will be open from 13:00). The ceremony will include two plenary lectures by Profs. Norio Kaifu (IAU president) and David Deamer (ISSOL president), and Noh play. The welcome party will start around 18:00 at Reception hall.
Wednesday afternoon@@Excursion tour is not scheduled in the conference schedule.
The afternoon of Wednesday July 9th will be free to take a mid-week break from the conference. A number of the major sightseeing spots (e.g., Todaiji temple, Kasuga Grand Shrine, Kofukuji temple, Heijyo-Kyo, Toshodaiji temple, Yakushiji temple) are very close to the conference area, so you can access most of the sites by walk or by taking Nara Kotsu Bus or Kintetsu/JR Railways, without reservation.
@@For the participants and accompanying persons who are interested in Kyoto and/or Nara world heritage sightseeing, the JTB tourist agency provides the optional tours. Please make a reservation from Registration page. The deadline is June 20, 2014, 17:30 JST.
Banquet will be on Thursday evening, July 10, at Hotel Nikko Nara (19:00-21:00). After the Thursday afternoon sessions, shuttle buses will take you to the hotel. Online reservation through Registration page will be required for attending Banquet. The deadline is June 30, 2014, 17:30 JST.
